Philosophy: Instruction Based on Standards
Whether helping you to complete a course
or helping you with tonight's homework
we are always mindful of the standards of
learning set by each state. Our teachers
and tutors are constantly reminded of the
learning goals and objectives which are
set at the state level. These objectives
are central to the body of knowledge
which must be mastered. It is this body
of knowledge which you must know for
high school achievement tests. And, it is
the mastery of this body of knowledge
which will allow you to perform well on
the ACT.

Philosophy: Create Self-Regulated Learners
We want you to perform well on tomorrow's
assignments but we also want you to become
a better student. To this end we will help
you to become familiar with learning strategies.
Learning strategies include taking good notes,
asking for help when you don't understand,
going to class on a regular basis, being able
to apply memorization techniques, and more.
It is not the "most intelligent" students who
will get the best grades. Rather, it will be
those students who know how to use learning
strategies who will excel in the classroom and
who will be tomorrow's leaders.
