What is the difference between 'group tutoring' and 'one-on-one tutoring'?

Group Tutoring - A minimum of two students is needed to form a tutoring group. Group

tutoring is only available "by subject". For example, a group of three students could

sign up for Algebra I tutoring. Or, a group of two students might sign up for tutoring

for Trigonometry. Group tutoring sessions are only conducted at specific times each week.

For example, the Trigonometry tutoring group might meet each Tuesday and Thursday

(online) from 7 pm - 8 pm. The tutor will explain the more difficult concepts, work sample

problems and give a priority to helping the tutees understand how to complete homework

assignments. The tutor will help the student(s) prepare for classroom challenges,

including quizzes, tests and homework assignments. All individuals belonging to a 'tutoring

group' must be identified by the purchaser(s) before tutoring sessions begin. Could be

a small group of students taking the same class, for example.

One-on-One Tutoring - One-on-One Tutoring is available on a Scheduled basis

(at specific times). Students are charged by the hour. During tutoring sessions the tutor will

explain the more difficult concepts, work sample problems interactively with the student (tutee)

and help the student to prepare for classroom challenges. The tutor will give a high priority

to helping the student complete homework assignments accurately and in a timely manner. It

is important to note that the tutor's job is to help the student complete his/her work

in a way that brings the student to an understanding of the material. It is not the purpose

of the tutor to do the student's homework for the student. The student must do the work.

The tutor is there to help.
